Two Georgetown Police Wounded in Shootout, Kill Suspect

Georgetown Police responded to a report of a 911 call overnight at a suspected break-in at a home, engaging in a gunfight with an armed subject.

The police department said that “during the incident, two Georgetown Police Officers were struck by gunfire from an armed subject. The officers returned fire, struck the subject, and the subject was declared deceased on the scene.”

Both officers were taken to a local hospital for treatment and are in “stable condition.”

The Police Department and other agencies will investigate the incident, as is normal in any officer-involved shooting. 

The shooting took place at the 700 block of Garden Meadow Drive.
