The Travis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred Monday, May 31, in an unincorporated area between Austin and Pflugerville.
According to an information specialist in the Sheriff’s Office, deputies got a 9-1-1 call at 11:39 am about a reported stabbing in the 500-block of E. Howard Lane. The caller reported a man had stabbed someone and was threatening a second person.
Deputies arrived at the scene within minutes later and located the suspect, who immediately surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
About the same time, deputies found an adult male deceased in a building behind a home. The suspect was then transported by Austin-Travis County EMS to a local hospital for treatment.
TSCO detectives believe the suspect was known to the decedent. They didn’t release the victim’s name, saying they wanted first to get autopsy results and notify next of kin.
This is the second homicide investigated by the Travis County Sheriff’s Office in 2021.
